Download and compile latest kernel (mine 2.6.12.1), download latest madwifi (mine 25th June 2005), compile (make & make install), and DONE! :) **It works fine in Master mode** (so far, b-mode, as I don't have a g-card at hand), although some more tests will be done to see if it gives a good TX rate, or if it has any stability issues. I will try with a reflector to maximize directional gain (and minimize my upper neighbours from sucking my wifi :). The reception at the furthest point is minimal BUT useable (at least browsing the net).

Without any tweaks, it covers my full house (110 square meters, passing through 2 or 3 brick walls). Nevertheless, it seems to have a nice power/gain (or whatever you call it :). Seems a bit fragile when fixing it to its base. Easy to break, and removing the protective heat shrink tube will reduce the strain relief. I don't know if there are any other revisions out there, but my AG520 worked fine and it was an A1.ġ.5m of cable connected to board via MMCX.

This 'hardware version' number is printed next to the serial number, in the barcode sticker usually at the back of the box, or next to the serial number barcode in the card itself. In my card, the surface of the chip itself reads 'AR5212A-00' 01 works fine if the PCI ID is added in ath/if_ath_pci.c of madwifi.ĪR5212 (a/b/g).
